The vivo V40 series launched locally back in August of last year, so it’s probably about time for the series to get a sequel. Hints of that have appeared, with the V50 being listed in the SIRIM database.
Oddly enough, only the vivo V50 is listed, when there is usually a Pro model accompanying the base model. The listing itself is less than a week old, with the approval date being 24 January, filed by VTalent Business Sdn Bhd.
Some details of the vivo V50 made made their way online over the past few months, including a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chip, with configurations going from 8GB + 256GB to 12GB + 512GB. There will likely be some sort of benefit with the company’s collaboration with imaging company ZEISS.
Elsewhere, the US NCC lists the vivo V50 as having a 6,000 mAh battery that supports 90W charging. Also listed are the usual connectivity options that you’d have come to expect from a smartphone of today, such as WiFi 6 Bluetooth and NFC.
Which is all well and good, but its appearance in SIRIM means that the vivo V50 will be getting a local launch in the near future. With that in mind, it won’t be long until we find out what the phone actually packs on the inside.
