Last week, vivo teased that it would be launching its X200 series of phone in Malaysia, but stopped short of providing an exact date. Today, on its official Facebook page, the brand has announced that the phones will be launching on 19 November.
Beyond that, the post did not mention which models will be making their way to our shores. From a couple of appearances on SIRIM, we know that the base and Pro models have already landed and are awaiting the official spotlight. With the Pro mini model not being mentioned so far, it’s possible that it didn’t make the cut.
Both the vivo X200 and its Pro variant first made appearances in their home market of China last month, both being the first to sport the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 chipset. The former has a 6.67-inch 120Hz AMOLED display, a 5,800 mAh battery with 90W charging, a triple 50MP camera setup at the back and a 32MP shooter in front.
The Pro model, on the other hand, gets a slightly larger 6.78-inch 120Hz AMOLED display, a 6,000 mAh battery with the familiar 90W wired charging with the added bonus of 30W wireless charging. It has two 50MP cameras at the back, with the telephoto zoom unit being the signature 200MP APO 3.7x optical zoom. In front is the familiar 32MP shooter.
To reiterate, both phones are currently scheduled for their local debut on 19 November. As much as we’d like to see the vivo X200 Pro mini make an appearance, we’ll have to wait for early next week to see if it comes to pass.
