Xiaomi has launched a new pair of flagships earbuds in China called the Buds 5 Pro. A higher-end version of the Buds 5 from last year, it replaces the hard tips with traditional silicone ear tips and offers enhanced audio features.
The Buds 5 Pro is fitted with a coaxial triple-driver setup, which includes an 11mm dual-magnetic dynamic driver and a planar diaphragm unit. There are two variants with one that adds Wi-Fi audio transmission support, which doubles the standard Bluetooth transmission rate at speed up to 4.2Mbps, although it only works with compatible devices such as the Xiaomi 15 Ultra. Both variants, however, support Qualcomm’s aptX Lossless codec.

On the noise cancellation side of things, the earbuds come with an adaptive ANC feature which claims to cancel out up to 55dB of noise. Additionally, the flagship buds support spatial audio with head tracking. Battery-wise, the Bluetooth version can last up to eight hours on a single charge with a total playback time of 40 hours with the case, while the Wi-Fi version lasts a bit longer at 10 hours due to its larger earbud batteries.
The Xiaomi Buds 5 Pro retails at a starting price of CNY1,299 (~RM795) while the Wi-Fi version costs CNY1,499 (~RM918). It is unclear when the earbuds will be released in Malaysia or which versions will be offered, but we can expect it here soon as it has already been listed on SIRIM.
