When Samsung announced the Galaxy S25 series, the company confirmed that the phones will come with Google’s Gemini Advanced, though for varying subscription durations. It looks like Xiaomi may be doing the same for the 15 series, which is currently slated for launch on 2 March.
Android Authority reports, as part of its APK teardown, that code within the Google app version 16.7.21.sa.arm64 has references to the Xiaomi brand, which includes names like Samsung and Pixel. These other names are noted to be involved in the Gemini Advanced promo program that Google has ongoing, with the Moto Razr also being among them.
While the Xiaomi 15 and 15 Ultra were not specifically mentioned, the report claims that the timing fits with the devices’ upcoming launch, which falls on the aforementioned 2 March. The code also doesn’t mention a specific duration for the promotion, though the options have been some multiple of three months, up to a year.
The report also claims that this is part of Google’s plans to get users to try Gemini Advanced in its most complete state, and getting potential customers to pay for it once the free bundled subscription period ends. It would also be an added bonus for those who choose to buy phones that are a part of the program.
