vivo just recently launched the V50 in India and now, it seems the brand is gearing up to unveil a second model from the series called the V50 Lite. The upcoming device has made its way to the SIRIM database ahead of any announcements from the company, signalling that its release date is nearing.
The V50 Lite was listed on SIRIM on 14 February 2025 with the model number V2440. The model number was previously spotted under the Jovi brand, which is expected to be a new sub-brand that vivo is planning to introduce. While there is no launch date yet, vivo’s Shopee store is teasing two new smartphones from the V series, which could very well be the V50 and the V50 Lite.
In any case, nothing about the Lite yet but for reference, the V40 Lite sported a 6.67-inch 1080p AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 1,200 nits. Powering the mid-ranger was a Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset backed by a 5,000mAh battery with support for 80W charging.
Imaging-wise, the V40 Lite featured a 50MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 32MP front snapper. It retailed at a starting price of RM1,299 for a 12GB+256GB configuration, so we can expect similar pricing for its upcoming successor.
