Grab has introduced a new programme simply known as VIP, which provides extra perks on top of the Gold and Platinum membership tiers. However, getting this status is very costly and requires you to meet the spending goal every three months in order to maintain the special status.
The Grab VIP programme is given automatically to users who spend a minimum of RM3,600 in a single quarter, with the status being awarded the following quarter after qualifying. For example, if you meet the threshold in February, you will not get the status until April.
For those who manage to spend enough to qualify, you will get five free Direct Delivery upgrades for your GrabFood delivery orders every month. Moreover, you will get priority support for all your requests, similar to the Platinum tier perks.
You will need to keep meeting the RM3,600 spending quota every single quarter for the VIP status to be renewed. If you fail to do so, you will lose the VIP status, but you can regain it during the next cycle if you meet the goal again. Notably, the quota can be met by spending on any Grab services, including Food, Mart, Express, or even Transport.
