vivo is set to release yet another affordable smartphone from the Y series called the Y39. The company has listed the upcoming phone on its website along with all its specs, but has yet to reveal details on pricing and availability.
That being said, several local retailers have already listed the phone for sale, along with its pricing and configuration. According to MMG Distribution and SSSolution, the Y39 will retail at RM999 in blue and purple colour options, along with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. While vivo has not announced a launch date for the phone, its official Shopee store states that early birds can order both the Y39 and the Y29 from 21 February, with free gifts to boot.

Aside from the camera module design and the chipset, the Y39 seems to be nearly identical to the Y29 in terms of specs. It gets a 6.68-inch 720p LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 1,000 nits. Under the hood, it runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2, powered by a large 6,500mAh battery with support for 44W charging.
Imaging-wise, the Y39 is equipped with a 50MP main camera and a depth sensor at the back, while the front houses an 8MP snapper. For connectivity, it supports 5G, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.1, and NFC. As for durability, it comes with an IP64 rating for dust and water resistance along with shock resistance.
