There have been rumours pointing to Samsung foldables getting more affordable variants for awhile now, with the clamshell Galaxy Z Flip looking to be the more likely candidate. These rumours have been floating around for awhile now, but more recently hints of one such device is claimed to have been spotted in the company’s OTA servers.
The claim comes from Erencan Yilmaz, who has contributed to sites such as Smartprix and Android Headlines, among others. On his X account, he shared the discovery of a device with the model number of SM-F761B, claimed to be the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip FE, from the aforementioned OTA servers. Yilmaz previously reported that a phone with the same model number has appeared in the GSMA database, albeit with the XE suffix rather than FE, which the report regarded as a typo.
For now, little is known about what the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip FE will bring to the table. We’ve seen claims dating back to March of last year that a more affordable version of the Z Flip6 will use an Exynos chipset, which will be a first for the foldable series. In regards to the above report on the phone being in the GSMA database, display industry analyst Ross Young has claimed that the phone will be using the same display as the Galaxy Z Flip6, which is a 6.7-inch AMOLED Full HD+ 120Hz screen.
With the B in the model number, the only thing that’s realistically known about the device, assuming it is indeed the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip FE, is that it will be available in Europe. It remains to be seen when the device will be getting an official unveiling.
