vivo has officially brought over its latest entry-level smartphone from the Y series, the Y29, to the Malaysian market. Unlike the 5G version launched in India back in December, the local version only gets 4G support with a different chip, but it does come with a much bigger battery.
The Y29 sports a 6.68-inch 720p LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 1,000 nits. Internally, it runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 685 chipset paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of expandable storage. For durability, it comes with an IP64 rating for dust and water resistance along with a MIL-STD-810H rating for drop resistance.

On the optics side, the budget phone is fitted with a 50MP main camera, a depth sensor, and an 8MP front snapper. Powering it is a hefty 6,500mAh battery with support for 44W charging. As for connectivity, it supports 4G, Wi-Fi 5, and Bluetooth 5.0, while for unlocking, it has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.

The vivo Y29 4G can be purchased through the brand’s website as well as its official Shopee store. It retails at RM799 and is offered in white and brown colour options.
