DJI has officially introduced its latest smartphone gimbals, the Osmo Mobile 7 and Osmo Mobile 7P, both of which are now available in Malaysia. The Osmo Mobile 7P serves as the higher-end variant, featuring a built-in extension rod and the brand-new Multifunctional Module, which provides advanced tracking capabilities across multiple applications on both Android and iOS.
The main distinction between the two models lies in the inclusion of the Multifunctional Module, which is bundled with the Osmo Mobile 7P but sold separately for the standard Osmo Mobile 7. The newer gimbals maintain a similar folding design to their predecessor, the Osmo Mobile 6. Notably, DJI has integrated a built-in tripod into both devices, eliminating the need for a separate accessory attachment. As for battery, the Osmo Mobile 7 and 7P are capable of lasting up to 10 hours and can also function as power banks if needed.

As three-axis stabilisers, both gimbals are designed to enhance smartphone video recording by reducing unwanted movements. They support multiple shooting modes, including “Tilt Lock” for steady footage and “FPV” for more dynamic camera movements. Users can also manually control the gimbal’s direction using the built-in joystick.

A highlight from the Osmo Mobile 7P is its advanced tracking capabilities, enabled by the Multifunctional Module. When connected to a smartphone via USB-C, this module allows gesture-based subject tracking across nearly any app. Users can initiate tracking by raising their palm to the camera and start or stop recording with a two-finger gesture. The module can be positioned to support both the primary and front-facing cameras and doubles as a receiver for DJI’s Mic Mini wireless microphones.
With the DJI Mimo app, users can take advantage of intelligent tracking features, which support multiple people and even pets. The app also enables panoramic shooting, dynamic zoom, and additional creative modes. A side wheel on the gimbals allows for zoom and focus adjustments and can activate a built-in fill light.

For the Malaysian market, the Osmo Mobile 7 is priced at RM339 while the 7P variant is priced at RM569. DJI has yet to list the standalone version of the Multifunctional Module, so it is still unclear how much it will cost locally. Those interested can order both gimbals via the brand’s official online stores on Shopee and Lazada.
