Apple is preparing to launch new MacBook Air models featuring its latest M4 chip, with a release expected by March at the latest. The information comes from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, who mentioned the expected launch window in his latest Power On newsletter.
This timeline mirrors the launch of the M3 MacBook Air in March 2024, suggesting a consistent annual refresh cycle for the lightweight notebook. While Gurman has not provided a precise release date for the new 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Air models, he previously indicated that the devices would be introduced “within weeks.”

Looking ahead, the Bloomberg journalist adds that Apple is planning to introduce its next-generation M5 chip in the MacBook Pro during the autumn, followed by an update to the iPad Pro in the first half of 2026. This shift deviates from Apple’s previous M4 product rollout, which began with the iPad Pro in May 2024 before the MacBook Pro received the upgrade in October.
Gurman’s report is also suggesting that Apple’s Mac Studio and Mac Pro M4 refresh are expected to arrive before the M5 MacBook Pro. These updates could be introduced around Apple’s annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) that’s likely happening in June 2025.

On a related note, Apple CEO Tim Cook has confirmed that the company will be launching a new product tomorrow. While not officially announced, it is expected that the device in question will be the much rumoured iPhone SE successor, which is said to be based on the iPhone 14 but with newer features.
