We already know that AMD plans on launching the Radeon RX 9070 Series at the end of the month but unsurprisingly, some retailers have decidedly released their stocks early, much to the delight of scalpers. Over in Eastern Europe, a “lucky” individual managed to purchase the card and even did an unboxing for it.
The buyer, who goes by the name C0D3C on Reddit, posted pictures of their newly gained RX 9070 XT on the social network. It’s plain to see that the AIB brand of this unit is Gigabyte, which also serves as confirmation that AMD does not intend to produce an SKU using a reference shroud.
The packaging also bares all the information of the RX 9070 XT that we’ve all been dying to find out. At launch, the card will ship out with 16GB GDDR6 memory, be based on AMD’s RDNA4 architecture, and have 64 Compute Units (CU) comprising third-generation RT Cores and second-generation AI Accelerators. Moreover, the card is prepped to support AMD’s HYPR-X and FSR4 technology. Additionally, it will also support DisplayPort 2.1a.
At this stage, it isn’t likely that the individual will be able to run the card; they’ll still need the official WHQL drivers for it and GPU brands generally do not release them until new cards officially hit store shelves. That, and handing out press drivers to relevant media.
