While we do like it whenever a Steam seasonal sale rolls around, things were always a little awkward for the Autumn and Winter sales as they have so far only been a month apart. This also meant that there’s always a huge gap in between the Summer and Autumn sales. This is finally changing this year, as Valve has rescheduled the Autumn sale to late September in 2025.
The reveal comes as part of a general announcements for all Steam Sales and Fests dates for the year. Notably, the Autumn sale is listed as happening between 29 September and 6 October. Rescheduling the same this way solves the two “problems” – if it’s an accurate word to use – mentioned above. With the new schedule, each seasonal sale is roughly three months apart as they should be.

In general, this simply means that the Steam Winter Sale won’t feel like a rehash of the Autumn Sale, as there’s a better chance for different discount figures between them. It will also be less emotional damage if you’ve missed out on picking up a game in your wishlist if you’re preoccupied during the Summer Sale window.

Of course, that’s just the four major seasonal sales, as Steam has plenty of other smaller scale Sales and Fests sprinkled throughout the year. You can check out for yourself what sorts of sales entail for the rest of the year by hitting the link below.
