AMD’s David McAfee, Corporate VP and General Manager of the company’s Client Channel Business, confirmed that the red chipmaker will unveil details of the Radeon RX 9070 Series on 28 February. And just to be clear, the full launch of the series is still expected to take place next month.
Like all reveals, the event happening at the end of the month is expected to pull back the curtain on the Radeon RX 9070 Series’ specifications, pricing, and performance details. Interestingly enough, the decision and the reveal date comes just as NVIDIA officially that the launch dates of its RTX5070 series – the 5070 Ti will be launching on 20 February, while the non-Ti will launch on 5 March.

AMD has made it clear that it no longer has the desire to play catch up with its green rival in the high-end and enthusiast class GPU market and will instead focus on bringing “4K mainstream” gaming to the masses, and work towards recapturing “market share”.
In addition, the new Radeon RX 9070 Series is expected to be based on the new RDNA4 architecture, as well as showcase its new FidelityFX Super Resolution 4 (FSR4) upscaling technology.

On another note, AMD also put earlier rumours regarding a 32GB variant of the Radeon RX 9070 XT to rest, stating simply that such a card isn’t coming and just isn’t in the pipeline.
