Apple has officially launched the Apple TV app and Apple TV+ streaming subscription for Android smartphones. While the app has been available on Android TV devices for some time, this marks its debut on the platform’s mobile version.
The app is now accessible for download via Google Play and is free to install. Users who do not have an Apple TV+ subscription can take advantage of a 7-day free trial before committing to a monthly fee. In Malaysia, the subscription is priced at RM29.90 per month.

The Android version features such as offline downloads and saved watchlists. However, unlike its iOS counterpart, the app does not support renting or purchasing movies and TV shows. Additionally, all content will sync across multiple devices, provided they are logged into the same Apple ID.
There are no specific hardware requirements for the app, but it does require a device running Android 10 or later. You’ll be glad to know that the Apple TV app on Android is also optimised for foldable smartphones such as the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 and Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold.
