Huawei has announced the latest iteration of its flagship tablet, the Huawei MatePad Pro 13.2. The device is slated to officially launch in Malaysia on 18 February 2025, alongside the brand’s highly anticipated Mate XT tri-fold smartphone.
Huawei confirms that the local version of the MatePad Pro 13.2” will feature a 13.2-inch Flexible OLED PaperMatte Display with professional-grade colour accuracy, a brightness of 1000 nits, and a 94% screen-to-body ratio. The display carries SGS Low Visual Fatigue 2.0 Premium Performance, TÜV Rheinland Full Care Display 3.0, and Reflection Free certifications. The company also claims that the tablet is thinner than its predecessors.
Huawei has not disclosed the chipset used in the new MatePad Pro 13.2 but states that it offers an “85% longer turbo duration for sustained performance.” Additionally, the tablet’s thermal design power (TDP) has reportedly increased by 6.6%, while its load temperature is reduced by 10°C, contributing to a 30% performance boost over its predecessor.
On the software front, the tablet comes preloaded with WPS Office Suite, enabling users to create and manage documents, spreadsheets, and presentations. Although the local announcement did not specify this, the new MatePad Pro 13.2 is expected to run the latest version of Huawei’s Harmony OS platform.
Based on its initial launch in China, the tablet is also expected to include a 50MP primary camera, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a 16MP front-facing camera. The battery is listed with a capacity of 10,100mAh and supports fast charging.
It remains to be seen whether the 2025 Huawei MatePad Pro 13.2 will match its Chinese counterpart in specifications, with details to be confirmed at launch. Pricing and availability are also expected to be revealed during the event next week.
