Late last month, we saw what was claimed to be a live image of the Xiaomi 15 Ultra, showing a monotone back on the device. More recently, another colourway of the phone has appeared online, with a much more interesting look to it.
The image in question was first shared on Weibo, but it appears that the original post on the Chinese social media has since been removed. Indian news site innoGyan managed to share a copy in the meantime, showing a version of the Xiaomi 15 Ultra that’s metallic on about a quarter on the back, as well as the ring around the camera island.
The remaining bits look like faux leather, giving this version of the Xiaomi 15 Ultra a look that’s reminiscent of certain Leica camera models. There’s perhaps the argument to be made that the faux leather bits would improve grip, but it’s far too early to say for certain.
On that note, it’s unclear if this is a sort of special edition version of the Xiaomi 15 Ultra, or just another available colourway when the phone launches. Prior rumours pointed towards one happening later this month for its home market, followed by a global one happening in conjunction with MWC 2025.
