Dr Lisa Su, CEO of AMD, has given us the confirmation. Early March 2025 is when the Radeon RX 9070 Series will launch, confirming earlier rumours.
The AMD head confirmed the launch during a recent Q4 2024 earnings call, stating that the cards will go on sale then. This sounds like an all-out sale, rather than the usual preorder period, which means one could realistically expect reviews of the new Radeon RX 9070 cards to be out by the end of this month, at the latest.
Dr Su also told investors that AMD will continue targetting the “volume portion of the enthusiast market”, which is another way of referring to the mid-range or mainstream market segment. “Our focus with this generation is to address the highest volume portion of the enthusiast gaming market without new RDNA4 architecture. RDNA4 delivers significantly better ray tracing performance and adds support for AI-powered upscaling technology that will bring high-quality 4K gaming to mainstream players, when the first Radeon 9070 series GPUs go on sale in early March.”
On a somewhat related note, the Radeon RX 9070’s early March launch also means that it won’t be clashing with the launch of green rival NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 5070 Ti, which is rumoured to be launching before the end of this month.
