Back in November, we saw reports of the ASUS ROG Phone 9 getting an FE model, with hints of it using a previous generation chipset. Now, its existence and its internal hardware has been confirmed by our neighbour up north, Thailand, as the phone was recently launched there.
The ASUS ROG Phone 9 FE comes only in its black colourway, but interestingly the back is more reminiscent of the Pro model than the base model, with its AniMe Vision mini-LED configuration. On its spec sheet, it does indeed list the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 as its brains, with 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage being the only configuration. The screen is the familiar 6.78-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a peak 185Hz display.
For cameras, the ASUS ROG Phone 9 FE is armed with the same hardware as the base model, which is a 50MP main + 13MP wide-angle + 5MP macro combo, and a 32MP front-facing shooter. The battery powering the device is a little smaller in capacity, being rated at 5,500 mAh, but with the familiar 65W charging.
Having only one memory and storage configuration, the ASUS ROG Phone 9 FE accordingly only has one price tag, which is THB 29,990 (~RM3,942). At the time of writing, the brand has not yet officially said if the FE will be available in Malaysia. But it looks to be more a matter of when than if, since it is already listed in SIRIM.
