Yes has updated its FAQ page to detail its new fibre service, officially named the Yes Fibre Postpaid Service Plan. With this update, more details are now available, including plan options, special promotions, and more.
One key detail stated in the FAQ is that Yes Fibre Postpaid is exclusive to Sabah. This was later confirmed by the telco after we reached out for clarification.
“Currently, Yes Fibre is exclusively available in Sabah as part of our commitment to bringing high-speed connectivity to more Malaysians,” a Yes spokesperson told us. “We’re proud to provide better access to online learning and entertainment, helping families and communities stay connected and enriching everyday lives.”
However, the telco did not confirm whether it plans to expand the service to other locations in the country. For now, only those based in Sabah can apply.
The FAQ page also reveals that Yes Fibre Postpaid is available in three plans. All of which come with a 24-month contract, unlimited 300Mbps speed, zero installation fees, as well as a free GPON modem and WiFi 6 router. However, the plans differ in subscription rates and eligibility criteria.
The basic plan, Yes Fibre 300Mbps, is available at a promotional rate of RM35 per month (originally RM139) for Malaysians with a valid MyKad. The Biz plan costs RM50 per month (RM189 outside of the promotion) and is open to Malaysians with a valid BRN ID per service activation. Lastly, there is a plan exclusively for foreigners at RM139 (no promotional rate), requiring a valid passport, an upfront payment at registration, and a RM250 deposit.
Regardless of the plan, Yes notes that subscribers will receive freebies while stocks last. These include a smartphone worth RM399 and a Yes Prepaid FT5G Discover Plan SIM card worth RM15.
Those in Sabah are able subscribe to the Yes Fibre Postpaid Service Plan through authorised Yes dealers in the state. Additionally, customers can check their data usage and make bill payments via the MyYes app.
