Microsoft is testing iPhone integration on Windows 11, which is currently being rolled out gradually to Windows Insiders in the Dev and Beta Channels. Previously available to Android users, the new integration adds a side panel on the Start menu, allowing you to quickly see your iPhone’s battery status, access messages and calls as well as a quick toggle for file transfers.
This update also allows new users to easily link their iPhones and Android devices directly from the Start menu. By selecting their device type from the right-side pane and following the on-screen instructions, users can quickly establish a connection and access their phone’s features on their PC.
Additionally, Microsoft is expanding the ability to share files between Windows PCs and mobile devices. Initially previewed in December, this feature allows users to send files directly from the Start menu by selecting the “Send files” option.
The new features require Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 4805 or higher in the Beta Channel and Build 26120.3000 or higher in the Dev Channel. Users must also have Phone Link version 1.24121.30.0 or higher, a Microsoft account signed into their PC, and Bluetooth LE capability. Unfortunately, Microsoft did not say when the new iPhone integration is expected to be rolled out to the public.
