When it comes to ewallets, we’re pretty spoilt for choice here in Malaysia, so your mileage may vary as to whether you think GoPayz by U Mobile is one that’s commonly used or otherwise. Either way though, the ewallet service has announced the end of its operations in a few months’ time.
On its own website, GoPayz has announced that its last day of service is 31 March 2025, after which, just about all of its services will no longer be available. If you’re a user, then you should complete all transactions, withdraw your balance and request for your account to be shut down.
As for the method you’d use to do all of that, you can either initiate the process from the GoPayz app itself, or via a PDF form. for the former, the first step has you go to the side menu and hitting “Other Services”, and then select “Wallet Closure Request” and continue from there. As for the latter, you can download the PDF version of the form and fill it out from there instead, and send the completed form to customercare@gopayz.com.my. Whichever method you choose, you’ll need a copy of your IC or passport as well as a bank statement.
In the same vein, if you need a statement of of your usage of the GoPayz ewallet, you can request for one before the aforementioned 31 March date. This can be done via the app, or by asking for one via the email mentioned above. Worth noting that the former method only gets you statements for up to the past six months. Users of the ewallet can find out more about what your options are by hitting the link below.
