After recently unveiling its flagship Galaxy S25 series, it seems that Samsung is preparing to launch a new mid-ranger called the Galaxy A56. Moreover, the brand is likely to release the upcoming phone soon, as it has just been listed on the SIRIM database.
The Galaxy A56 5G received SIRIM certification on 24 January 2025 with the model number SM-A566B/DS, signalling its imminent local arrival. As you can tell from the name, it will be the successor to last year’s A55 model, and while the company has yet to reveal anything about the phone, several of its specs have already trickled out through various leaks.
For one thing, FCC and TENAA certifications confirm that the mid-range device will be powered by the same 5,000mAh battery capacity with support for faster 45W charging. Under the hood, it will reportedly run on the company’s in-house Exynos 1580 chipset with up to 12GB and 256GB RAM and storage configurations.
According to rumours, the A56 will feature a 1080p 120Hz Dynamic AMOLED display and will retain the same camera setup made up of a 50MP main shooter, a 12MP ultra-wide lens, and a 5MP depth sensor, but a downgraded 12MP selfie snapper. The phone will allegedly be making its global debut by mid-March, along with the Galaxy A36.
