Garmin has announced the local arrival of its new Instinct 3 rugged smartwatch series. Unveiled earlier this month, the lineup gets a higher starting price than the Instinct 2 series, but the solar version is actually cheaper while the non-solar model is upgraded to an AMOLED display.
Both versions of the Instinct 3 are available in 45mm and 50mm size options, encased in fibre-reinforced polymer and a metal bezel. The lineup is equipped with an MIL-STD 810 rating for thermal and shock resistance and it is also water-rated to 100-metres.
The series is fitted with sensors to track your heart rate, sleep quality, steps, blood oxygen levels, and more, supporting over 1,600 exercises through the Connect app with an on-device GPS for better positioning accuracy. Moreover, the entire lineup comes with a built-in flashlight with red light and strobe modes.
As for the battery life, the 45mm version of the AMOLED model can last up to 18 days while the 50mm version can give you up to 24 days of usage. On the other hand, the 45mm and 50mm versions of the solar charging model can last 28 days and 40 days respectively, although this can be stretched out indefinitely if you wear it outdoors for at least three hours in sunny conditions.
The Instinct 3 AMOLED model gets a starting price of RM2,239 while the solar charging model retails from RM1,999. It will be available for purchase starting February 2025 through the brand’s website and retailers as well as its Shopee, Lazada, and AECO stores.
