While it seems more likely than not at this point that Apple will be releasing the iPhone SE 4 at this point, there was another claim that it would be released into the wild as the iPhone 16E instead. More recently, shots of what is claimed to be dummy units of said phone has made their way onto the internet.
These come via leakster @SonnyDickson on X, showing one dummy of the iPhone SE 4 in black, and another in white. We see one rear camera module on both, which is par for the course so far for the SE models. That being said, it does look larger than ever before.
On the side though is where things get a bit interesting. Here, we see on what is presumably on the left of the white model iPhone SE 4 that it has the old mute switch rather than the much rumoured Action button that the new iPhones are equipped with. Then there’s the SIM tray further down on this side of the phone. Unfortunately, basically nothing else is visible on the dummy with the black colourway.
Unfortunately, the front of the alleged dummy of the iPhone SE 4 was not shown, so there’s nothing else to be gleamed from these pair of images. Not that leaks should be completely trusted, but it is now up in the air whether Apple is giving this device the old mute switch or the new Action button. So far, there have not been any leaks disputing the first quarter announcement, so we have a couple of months to wait before we know for sure which is which.
