Last month, OPPO unveiled the A5 Pro, the successor to last year’s A3 Pro. Compared to its predecessor, it comes with a drastically improved display, better durability, a faster processor, and a much larger battery.
While the brand has not announced a local launch date just yet, it is likely that the budget smartphone will be coming to Malaysia soon as it has already been listed on the SIRIM database. The A5 Pro received SIRIM certification just recently on 14 January 2025 with the model number CPH2711.
The phone is equipped with a 6.7-inch 1080p AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 1,200 nits. Internally, the device runs on a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chipset while the outside comes with an IP69 rating for dust and water resistance along with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the screen.
Imaging-wise, the A5 Pro features a 50MP main camera, a depth sensor, and a 16MP front shooter. Backing it is a hefty 6,000mAh battery with support for significantly faster 80W charging. The fingerprint scanner has been moved from the side to under the display while for connectivity, it supports 5G, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.4, and NFC.
