This year’s Samsung Galaxy S25 series have yet to be officially unveiled, and rumours of the sequel have already started popping up. This time, it’s got to do with the S26 series, or more specifically their batteries. A leakster has claimed that next year’s flagships will be making use of what is known as silicon-carbon batteries
The claim comes via @Jukanlosreve, citing fellow leakster Ice Universe as the source. Accompanying the claim is a report from earlier in the week by The Elec which notes that Samsung will be using battery stacking tech, which is already being used in electric vehicles.
While the leakster has pointed the spotlight on these two potential battery tech being used, it’s unclear if they will both be employed at the same time for the Samsung Galaxy S26 series. The usage of either would increase the charge storage capacities of batteries without increasing volume, or indeed make it take up less space without sacrificing charge.
These claims come not too long after Samsung announced the ISOCELL ALoP periscope camera tech to reduce camera bump sizes, which is rumoured to be employed by the Galaxy S25 Slim. The use of both would be nice to see in future phones, but it remains to be seen if they all pan out.
