Back at CES 2025, HP and its Omen lineup was one of the brands listed when NVIDIA announced that the GeForce RTX 50 Series would be hitting the laptop segment. That laptop, specifically, is the Max 16.
Specs-wise, the Max 16 can be equipped either with Intel’s Core Ultra 9 275HX or one of the AMD’s newly announced Ryzen AI 9 HX CPUs. For the GPU, the laptop is one of the first that will be fitted with the upcoming GeForce RTX 5080 mobile GPU.
To keep the Omen Max 16 operating at an optimum level, HP says that the laptop will also be one of the first in its line to use what it describes as a “cryo compound” that combines liquid metal and metal greaser, improving heat dissipation and preventing leaks.
Other specifications include up to 64GB of DDR5 RAM, a 16-inchg WQXGA (2560 x 1600) IPS panel with a variable refresh rate of up to 240Hz, 3ms response time, and a peak brightness of 500 nits. Expectedly, the keyboard at the base of the Omen Max 16 is made with the HyperX technology that it acquired from Kingston oh so many years ago. Lastly, it comes with Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 support, plus a 6-cell 83Whr battery to power it all.
Pricing for the Omen Max 16 starts at US$2,699.99. At the time of writing, HP Malaysia did not provide local availability of pricing.
