OnePlus is said to be gearing up to launch a new foldable called the Open 2 soon, as the brand did not release a smartphone in this category in 2024. Following leaks of its renders last month, two prominent Chinese leaksters have tipped off what are allegedly the upcoming phone’s key specs.
The Open 2 was previously reported to feature an improved triple-camera system with the Hasselblad branding, along with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset under the hood, a 6,000mAh battery, wireless charging, and satellite communication support. The new information, if it is to be believed, is that the foldable will apparently aim to be the thinnest foldable on market with a titanium design — for reference, the current holder of this title is the HONOR Magic V3, measuring at only 9.2mm when folded.
From the supposed renders that have popped up so far, the phone will come with a familiar design. It is said to feature an 8-inch 120Hz inner display, 6.4-inch AMOLED cover screen, a 50MP main camera, a 50MP ultra-wide lens, a 50MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, and 32MP and 20MP selfie snappers.
The OnePlus Open 2 is rumoured to be a rebadged OPPO Find N5 for the global market. However, the latter has already made an appearance in the SIRIM database, hinting at an imminent launch in Malaysia.
