Leaked renders of the Samsung Galaxy S25 series have just leaked, including the Ultra model and the S-Pen that comes with it. And while the stylus doesn’t look any different from the iterations that have come before, a leakster has claimed that it will be losing a pretty integral feature.
On X, @ishanagrawal24 cites retail sources as claiming that the S-Pen of the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra will be losing Bluetooth connectivity and its associated features. The list of associated features include gestures and its remote control functionality, which are not only tied to Bluetooth connectivity, but also the buttons on the S-Pen itself. But as we’ve seen from the renders of the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, those buttons are here to stay.
In a reply, the leakster also speculates that this may be a cost-cutting measure, speculating that the South Korean tech giant has data that suggests that said Bluetooth features are barely used. Though it’s not difficult to imagine heavy users and enthusiasts who frequently use the S-Pen as a remote shutter for photos and videos would be sorely missing the functionality.
Whether or not there’s any truth to the claim, or indeed the veracity of the renders, it’s not that long a wait until Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked event, when the S25 line is scheduled for their unveiling. Until then, the usual dose of salt is recommended. After all, there’s the completely opposite claim when it comes to Samsung’s styluses where its premium foldable is concerned.
