Last month, it was reported that DJI was planning on introducing a new compact drone called the Flip. Just yesterday, the company posted a teaser confirming a launch date for the upcoming drone, but ahead of the launch, it has already listed it on the SIRIM database, signalling its imminent arrival.
The Flip received SIRIM certification on 2 January 2025 with the model number DF1A0424. While DJI itself has not confirmed anything about the drone, multiple leaks have already popped up and revealed its design and some of its key specs.
One leakster claims that the Flip will have a 48MP camera with a 1/1.3-inch sensor, an 82.1-degree field of view, and 4x digital zoom. Moreover, it will be capable of shooting videos in 4K along with support for DNG and RAW photo formats.
As for its flight specs, it will allegedly be able to continuously operate for up to 31 minutes, but this is reduced to 28 minutes when hovering with a 16 m/s maximum speed and a 14km range. The drone is apparently packed with a 22.3Wh (7.16V) battery and weighs 249g. The brand will be officially unveiling the Flip on 14 January.
