Ever since Razer branched out of just simply making gaming mice and keyboards, the brand has gotten into making a lot more wacky stuff. One such example being revealed as part of its CES 2025 lineup is what is called Project Arielle, a mesh chair that’s the next step for the Fujin.
Considering the name, Razer is probably not making Project Arielle into something you can buy until awhile later. Which is probably understandable, because it does come with pretty intense features, the likes of which that are not only quite out there, but also would make the whole thing quite expensive.
Key among said features is the inclusion of an integrated bladeless fan system that provides three levels of on-demand cooling, bringing temperatures down by a claimed five degrees Celsius. The same system also provides on-demand heating using “energy efficient PTC heaters” to deliver up to 30 degrees Celsius of warm air to you in colder climates.
All of these features on Project Arielle, Razer has made easily accessible via a touch panel. Though the official press release only mentions a power cable, chances are it draws power from a socket on a wall near you. And since it is already adding to your electricity bill, why not get some strips of RGB lighting while we’re at it? Though for the most part, these mostly only show up as blue when you turn on the fan, or red when you go for the heater.
For something a bit more practical, relatively speaking, there’s the Razer Iskur V2 X. As the suffix implies, it does almost everything that the base model from last year can do, with some compromises. Most important among them is probably the armrests, which 2D movement rather than 4D. The faux leather has been replaced with “multi-layered fibres for enhanced breathability” as well, which may be the better choice depending on climate.
As mentioned, there’s no price or release date for Project Arielle, at least until it gets a name change in the future. Oddly enough, while the Razer Iskur V2 X does have a price of US$299.99 (~RM1,349), there’s no availability date, both internationally or locally. The latter is sort of a given as it’s usually made available locally outside of the brand’s own online store.
