Xiaomi has unveiled yet another Redmi device with the 14C 5G, a 5G variant of the existing 14C smartphone. While it does get an upgrade in the processor department and a downgrade for the front camera, the phone is virtually identical in every other aspect to its 4G counterpart.
The 14C 5G sports the same 6.88-inch 720p LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 600 nits. Under the hood, however, the phone swaps out MediaTek for the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2, paired with up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage along with a microSD card slot for storage expansion.
On the optics side, it features a 50MP main camera and a depth sensor on the back, while the front houses an 8MP selfie snapper. Powering the entry-level device is a 5,160mAh battery with support for 18W charging. Additionally, it comes with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, an IP52 rating, and supports 5G, Wi-Fi 5, an unspecified version of Bluetooth, and an audio jack.
The 14C 5G is offered in three colour options and retails at a starting price of INR10,000 (~RM525) for the base trim. It ships with HyperOS based on Android 14, with the company promising it will receive two Android upgrades and security patches for 4 years. As of now, it is unknown if the brand plans to bring this phone into Malaysia in the future.
