HMD is following up on the Arc budget smartphone from the middle of last month with a new entry into the space. This time, it’s called the HMD Key, but you’ll see that the two have a lot in common, from the way they look down to their spec sheet.
Going through said spec sheet, we see a familiar 6.52-inch 1,280 x 576 60Hz display. Inside is where we start seeing some differences, with the chipset here being a Unisoc 9832E, which is accompanied by 2GB of memory and 32GB of internal storage space. Then there’s the 4,000 mAh battery with 10W charging via USB-C.
For its cameras, the Key has an 8MP primary camera at the back, and a 5MP front-facing shooter sitting in a water drop notch. With the specs so far in mind, it’s probably no surprise that it runs the Go Edition of Android 14. For what it’s worth, there is support for Bluetooth 4.2, WiFI 4 (802.11n) as well as a 3.5mm audio jack. Rounding out the package is an IP52 rating.
The official press release says that the HMD Key is available in the UK, Australia and New Zealand, with a GBP59 (~RM329) price tag. No mention of availability elsewhere as of yet, unfortunately.
