Xiaomi has officially unveiled its latest smartphone under the Redmi sub-brand, the Turbo 4. Compared to its predecessor, the mid-range device gets a minor chipset upgrade, a much bigger battery, and an improved IP rating.
The Turbo 4 comes with a 6.67-inch 1220p AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a global peak brightness of 1,400 nits, and an HDR peak brightness of 3,200 nits. Under the hood, it runs on the new MediaTek Dimensity 8400 Ultra chip while for protection, it offers an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. For connectivity, the phone supports 5G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 6.0, and NFC.
Imaging-wise, the mid-ranger features a 50MP main camera with OIS, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 20MP front snapper. Backing it is a hefty 6,550mAh cell with support for 90W charging. As for biometrics, the phone is equipped with an under-display fingerprint scanner.
The Turbo 4 has a starting price of CNY1,999 (~RM1,228) for the base trim of 12GB+256GB. Xiaomi is expected to rebrand this phone as the POCO X7 Pro for the global market, while the X7 is predicted to be a rebadged Redmi Note 14 Pro. According to POCO’s official Shopee store, the X7 Pro will be arriving here on 9 January, the same day as the global launch happening in India.
