A Tesla Cybertruck in the US went up in a big ball of flames on New Year’s Day. The explosion occurred just outside the front of the Trump International Hotel Las Vegas.
Ongoing investigations say that the Cybertruck was loaded with an “array of gas and fuel canisters” as well as several large fireworks in the bed of the vehicle. “We have now confirmed that the explosion was caused by very large fireworks and/or a bomb carried in the bed of the rented Cybertruck and is unrelated to the vehicle itself,” Musk said in a post on X. “All vehicle telemetry was positive at the time of the explosion.”

The explosion killed the driver of the Cybertruck, while seven other people reportedly sustained minor injuries. It is also believed that the explosion of the vehicle comes just after the New Year’s attack in the city of New Orleans, when a driver ploughed through a crowd of party-goers with a pick-up truck.
Why Trump International Hotel Las Vegas was targetted is up to some of the most obvious and blatant speculation – while his victory is still both a surprise and shock to many, Donald Trump is set to return to the White House on 20 January. Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, was also a major supporter of the man, as well as a major adviser to the man.
It’s not an understatement that both men aren’t exactly well-liked outside of the US, and domestically by many folks. Couple that with the failed assassination attempts against Trump, it’s not a stretch to say that some folks are still adamant on sending a message to both men.
