The iPhone SE 4 has made its rounds through the rumour mill a couple of times now, but the one thing that has been consistent so far was the name. But it looks like it may end up being called something else when it does hit the market, according to a leakster.
This comes from leakster @MajinBuOfficial on X, who cites their own sources on the matter. The new name would ostensibly be the iPhone 16E, but everything else being shared is consistent with older leaks on the matter. This includes a look that’s reminiscent of the iPhone 14, with an OLED screen and an action button, with no home button.
Prior leaks of the phone suggested that it would have Face ID, and no home button. It was also said to feature an A18 chip, as well as Apple’s first in-house 5G modem chip, which will also be handling other wireless duties like WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS.
Currently, Apple is rumoured to have a slew of announcements for early this year, with the iPhone SE 4, or indeed 16E, among them. Previously, MacRumors cited Barclays analysts as saying that this will happen at the end of the first quarter. This would line up with the previous generation SE, which was unveiled in March of 2022.
