Mobile phone maker POCO, which spun off of Xiaomi, has a launch lined up for very early next year, specifically for 9 January. It’s for the POCO X7 series, which will consist of a base model and a Pro model, according to GSMArena.
The report notes that, based on renders, the base model is a rebranded Redmi Note 14 Pro. Then there’s the Pro model being a Redmi Turbo 4, which itself is getting a 2 January in its home market of China. Not entirely unexpected, as this has certainly happened before a handful of times.
An earlier leak with POCO X7 series saw their renders getting leaked, as well as their spec sheet. Based on these, the base model gets a 6.67-inch “1.5K” 120Hz AMOLED screen, a MediaTek Dimensity 7300-Ultra chipset, up to 12GB of RAM, up to 512GB of storage, and a 5,110 mAh battery with 45W charging. Cameras here are reportedly a 50MP 2x zoom shooter, with a 20MP front-facing unit.
As for the POCO X7 Pro, this has the same screen size and refresh rate, but with a touch sampling rate of 2,560 Hz on top. The battery here is noted to be a 6,000 mAh pack with 90W charging and the primary camera is a 50MP unit. No notes on storage, memory or other cameras on this one.
Probably worth mentioning at this point that the 9 January launch of the POCO X7 series is happening in India. No word on if the devices are coming over to our shores, or when it’s happening yet, at least at the time of writing.
