Nintendo has been absolutely tight-lipped about the Nintendo Switch 2 and because of that, we’ve had no choice but to rely on leaks and rumours that are slowly being drip-fed to us. On that note, the latest rumours hovering around the next generation console talks about its alleged performance.
According to the latest chatter and their unsubstantiated sources, the Switch 2 could ship out with enough horsepower, on par with the Sony PlayStation 4 (PS4) Pro. If that is true, that would be a graciously generous leap of graphical prowess.
Left is PS4 Pro
Right is PS5When I tell you this generational jump is negligible at best and nothing at worst. Switch 2 being a PS4 Pro strength handheld is more than fine https://t.co/7hgo9KWO69 pic.twitter.com/AmA9G8h5Ep

There is, however, conflicting reports on the mode of which that power would be accessible. The original Forbes report is riding off an earlier rumour that the PS4 Pro-like power would only be possible while docked. A couple days after, another rumour appeared stating that docking the Switch 2 would allow it to run on par with an Xbox Series S or PS5.
Again, these are all just rumours and nothing has been set in stone yet but at this stage, there is little reason to believe that the Switch 2 will be nothing less than a hit when it officially hits store shelves. Whatever power it brings.

What we do know is that, like the original Switch, the next-generation console is expected to be powered by a custom NVIDIA SoC, 12GB LPDDR5X RAM running at 7,500MT/s, along with a custom version of NVIDIA’s DLSS 2 upscaling technology. Of course, there’s also speculation about the pricing although at this stage, it wouldn’t surprise us if Nintendo sold it for more than the original’s US$300 (~RM1,339) asking price.
