LG has gotten ahead of the CES 2025 curve, pulling back the curtains on its upcoming UltraGear GX9 series of gaming monitors. It’s launching two monitors in total: the 45X990A and the 45GX950A.
Both UltraGear GX9 monitors are 45-inch OLED panels complete with the ultrawide 21:9 aspect ratio. However, LG is boasting that the monitors are the first OLED monitors to feature its second generation Dual-Mode, allowing them to switch between 5K and 2K resolutions.
The UltraGear 45GX990A is also the world’s first – according to LG, anyway – bendable 5K2K OLED gaming monitor, with the ability to go from flat to having 900R curvature in seconds. And while the 45GX950A doesn’t have the same bendable nature as its sibling, it is still a curved gaming monitor with the same 5K2K display, albeit with a slightly less severe curvature at 800R.
Both the UltraGear 45GX990A and 45GX950A ship out with DisplayPort 2.1, HDMI 2.1, and USB-C with 90W power delivery. In addition, they are also certified NVIDIA G-Sync and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro monitors, with a 0.03ms GTG response time, although the official press release conveniently left out the maximum refresh rate for them.
On top of that, we still don’t know the official pricing or availability for the monitors.
