The OPPO Find N3 and the OnePlus Open were effectively the same phone with a different name stamped on them when they were released last year. While it’s unclear if this will happen again when the sequels come along, renders of what is claimed to be the OnePlus Open 2 have appeared online.
These renders come courtesy of Smartprix, which claims to have sourced them from leaksters @heyitsyogesh and @chunvn8888. But to keep the hype in check, it should be clear that these renders are based on the late-stage prototype of the OnePlus Open 2. In other words, this is no guarantee that the device will look like this when it hits shelves, though this applies to all leaks.
With all that in mind, the supposed OnePlus Open 2 render shows a familiar look, with minor changes on the back of the phone. The camera setup sits in th familiar circular island, but the Hasselblad branding now sits in the six o’clock position rather than three. There also looks to be more pronounced curve to the edges here, compared to the original. Unfolded, things look to be mostly similar, including the punch hole camera on the top right corner.
The report also comes with some items from the supposed OnePlus Open 2 spec sheet, which includes the claim that it will measure under 10mm thick while folded. Other items include an 8-inch 120Hz main display with a 6.4-inch AMOLED outer screen, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage space. Then there’s a 5,900 mAh battery that supports 80W wired and 50W wireless charging.
For its cameras, the report claims that the OnePlus Open 2 will have a 50MP main + 50MP wide-angle +50MP 3x optical zoom camera combo, with 32MP and 20MP front-facing units. On the software side of things, there’s the expected OxygenOS 15 based on Android 15.
Despite these renders being only of a prototype, the report claims that the OnePlus Open 2, and its OPPO counterpart, have their launch scheduled not too far in the future. The first is the one in their home market of China, expected early next year, with the global launch still within the first quarter.
