Huawei has brought over two new earbuds to the Malaysian market, namely the FreeBuds Pro 4 and the FreeBuds SE 3. The earphones were announced during the local launch of the brand’s new foldable Mate X6 along with its mid-range nova 13 lineup.
Starting with the new Pro earbuds, it comes equipped with 11mm dynamic drivers and includes memory foam ear tips for a more snug fit. It comes with active noise cancellation as well as AI noise cancellation for calls; it claims to be able to reduce noise levels up to 100dB during calls. Moreover, it also has infrared sensors in each bud to detect when you take them out, support for dual-connection, and proximity pairing with Huawei smartphones.
For sound, the buds are packed with an adaptive EQ and digital cross-over alongside support for the company’s L2HC 4.0 audio codec with 2.3Mbps lossless transmission. As for battery life, the buds can last up to seven hours on a single charge without ANC and five hours when ANC is enabled, with a total battery life of 33 hours when combined with the charging case.
On the other hand, the more affordable SE 3 gets 10mm dynamic drivers with support for call noise cancellation, but it does not come with ANC. Huawei states that these earbuds can last up to nine hours on a single charge and 42 hours in total. Additionally, both the SE and Pro models have an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance.
The FreeBuds Pro 4 can be pre-ordered at RM899 from 18 December 2024 to 10 January 2025 through the brand’s website, as well as its Shopee, Lazada, and TikTok Shop stores. During this period, it will come with a free Band 8 and a case. Meanwhile, the FreeBuds SE 3 will retail at RM199 and will be available for purchase starting 1 January 2025.
