Samsung has finally launched the Galaxy A16 LTE in Malaysia, albeit quietly, as it has listed the phone’s price on its website. Available through its online store, the 4G version of the A16 5G comes with a lower price tag of RM659, but it also gets half the RAM and storage amount.
To refresh your memory, the 4G-supporting Galaxy A16 is nearly identical to its 5G counterpart save for the chipset. It sports a 6.7-inch 1080p AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 800 nits. Inside, the budget device runs on a MediaTek Helio G99 chipset paired with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of expandable storage.
For imaging, it features a 50MP main camera, a 5MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP macro lens, alongside a 13MP front snapper. Backing the smartphone is a 5,000mAh battery with support for 25W charging. Additionally, the entry-level phone still comes with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner as well as an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance.
On the software side, it ships with One UI 6.1 based on Android 14, but the brand is also promising six major Android upgrades along with six years of security updates. Connectivity-wise, it supports 4G, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.3, and NFC.
