Besides leaking renders of the Lenovo Legion Go S, Evan Blass (@evleaks) had also provided renders of the original Legion Go’s true successor to The Verge. It’s the first look the world is getting and just by looking at the images, there are definitely refinements to the AMD Ryzen Z2 Extreme-powered unit.
Like its predecessor, the Legion Go retains the detachable Joycon-like controllers, along with the built-in kickstand. It’s clear to see that Lenovo also retained the “FPS” mode, which transforms the right controller into a joystick cum mouse.
The handheld looks noticeably larger too, although Blass provided no details on its specifications. On that note, while we say that the handheld will be powered by the Ryzen Z2 Extreme SoC, Lenovo itself hasn’t confirmed the full specs of the display. For that matter, it remains to be seen if the brand will be swapping out the massive 8.8-inch IPS LCD display for an OLED panel.
One other thing to note is that, unlike the Legion Go S, renders of the bigger console all show a button with the Legion symbol on it, and not a single one displays a dedicated Steam button, suggesting that Lenovo isn’t planning on releasing more than one SteamOS-powered device. This, itself, could also be due to Valve’s new “branding guidelines” for “Powered by SteamOS” devices.
