DJI may soon introduce a new drone known as the Flip, according to well-known leakster Jasper Ellens. Unlike the company’s typical offerings, this alleged model is expected to feature a distinctive folding design.
The most notable aspect of the Flip is its unique folding mechanism for storage, where all four propellers are positioned vertically beneath the main body. Ellens even joked that this design makes the drone resemble an AT-AT walker from Star Wars.
PRICE UPDATE on the #DJIFLIP. The now #confirmed 439 euro does #include a RC-N3 controller. This means the drone itself will be #cheaper. Secondly look at this #unseen picture. Will this do FPV with it's 2-axis camera? Oh, and lets call it DJI's first #StarWars drone. Cheers! pic.twitter.com/3Cd4qMpZps

Another key feature is its 2-axis gimbal system, a departure from the 3-axis configuration commonly found in DJI’s modern drones. This shift raises questions about the drone’s intended use case and its camera stabilisation capabilities. However, detailed specifications for the DJI Flip remain scarce, though the leakster did mention that LIDAR will be one of its key features.
A few days ago my friend YueYue recorded the world #first view of the leaked #DJIFLIP linking animation. Today he took a screen recording giving us a even #sharper image of the upcoming #FLIP. Do you love it or hate it? Cheers Jasper pic.twitter.com/dYd5SEhAZv

Ellens claims the DJI Flip will be priced at EUR439 (~RM2,055), situating it between the Neo and the more advanced Mini 4 Pro models. Interestingly, this price is expected to include the RC-N3 controller, adding considerable value to the package. No date was given, but it is speculated that the new drone could launch in January next year.
