Smartphone manufacturer vivo could soon be introducing a new sub-brand called Jovi. This is according to several new listings on the GSMA database, which suggests that the BBK Electronics subsidiary is preparing yet another brand under the name Jovi, which would be its second sub-brand after iQOO.
It is worth pointing out that Jovi should be a familiar name to vivo users as it is the name of the brand’s digital assistant in its operating system. It seems the name is being spun off into its own brand as a Smartprix report found three “Jovi” smartphones with vivo being listed as the manufacturer.
Specifically, there is the Jovi V50, V50 Lite 5G, and Y39 5G. Notably, the Jovi V50 Lite shares the same model number (V2440) as the vivo V50 Lite, which suggests that the new sub-brand might offer rebadged vivo smartphones instead of its own unique products, at least initially.
The report also suggests that the new brand might be launched in China first, but this has not been confirmed. It is unknown exactly when vivo will be launching Jovi, but given the recent listings, it seems likely to happen in 2025.
