To recap, FLYsiswa is a travel voucher for students from Sabah, Sarawak, or Labuan who are currently studying in Peninsular Malaysia, as well as Peninsular students studying in East Malaysia, to book flights back to their home state. To be eligible, you must be studying in the public universities, polytechnics, and community colleges under the higher education ministry.
Loke said that students can check their eligibility for the voucher through the ministry’s website starting from 1 January. He did not specify when the new vouchers will expire but for reference, the vouchers from this year will expire on 31 December 2024.
The minister added that since its implementation, FLYsiswa has benefited a total of 74,500 students (or 73%) of 102,150 students. The ticket subsidy can be used to purchase one-way or round-trip flights with Malaysia Airlines, AirAsia, Batik Air, MASwings, and FireFly.
