MyDigital ID Sdn Bhd has shared new insights into its identity management platform and app. In a recent statement shared with The Star, CEO Mohd Mirza Mohamed Noor revealed that one of its key ambitions is to serve as a “super app” for Malaysians.
He explained that the platform aims to go beyond registration and credentials, expanding its capabilities to include subsidy disbursements, lifestyle services, direct government interactions, and entrepreneurship opportunities. Mohd Mirza promised that more details surrounding this will be announced soon.
Currently, MyDigital ID is being integrated into platforms like MyTNB, PDRM MyBayar, and MyJalan, with completion targeted within two months. Sixteen local banks across Tier 1, 2, and 3 (including digital banks) are also in the process of integration, with a go-live date set for Q1 2025. Additionally, the CEO said MySejahtera is moving towards adopting MyDigital ID as a single login ID for Malaysians.
Addressing concerns about the platform’s yearly renewal policy, which reportedly faced criticism online, Mohd Mirza clarified that this approach aims to maintain the security and integrity of the national digital identification system. He added that the annual renewal helps reduce the risk of cyberattacks by limiting the window for exploiting vulnerabilities.
“Digital certificates have a one-year expiration period to improve cybersecurity and limit cyberattacks,” he said. “This approach follows standard international practices.”

While acknowledging potential inconveniences, Mohd Mirza assured that efforts are underway to simplify the renewal process. Users can renew their digital certification through MyDigital ID’s mobile app or kiosks in selected locations.
The CEO also responded to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s recent concerns over the platform’s slow rollout. He said that MyDigital ID is taking this “very seriously”, viewing it as an opportunity to enhance its implementation strategy.
