Astro recently launched a new suite of entertainment packages called Astro One, which now includes the option to upgrade your third-party streaming subscriptions such as Netflix and Disney+ Hotstar. Moreover, in the case Netflix, upgrading through this method will let you access the Premium plan for cheaper.
Astro One consists of three packs, namely the Entertainment Pack, the Sports Pack, and the Epic Pack. Only the Epic Pack includes subscriptions to Netflix, Disney+ Hotstar, Max, iQIYI, and more. Netflix plans are priced the same but through Astro One, you can actually get cheaper prices for Hotstar than if you were to subscribe directly through Disney, with the Basic and Premium plans costing RM18.30/month and RM33/month respectively.
Moreover, for the Epic Pack, customers actually have the option to upgrade from the default Standard plan to the Premium plan for an additional RM10/month, which is RM3 less than the retail price of the plan. As for iQIYI, you won’t unlock a lower price by upgrading through this package, but both of its plans are priced lower than the retail price ranging from RM8.90/month to RM12.90/month.
The included Max subscription uses the Standard plan, but Astro has not yet revealed the cost for Epic Pack subscribers to upgrade to the Ultimate plan. Additionally, those using the Entertainment or Sports Pack can upgrade the concurrent user limit on the Go Plus app from two to four users at an additional RM5.99/month.
