MSI has officially pulled back the veil from its Claw 8 AI+ gaming handheld. As previously reported, the PC and laptop brand brought up the timetable for the console, launching it this month instead of early Q1 2025.
Running through the specs sheet, the Claw 8 AI+ is powered by Intel’s latest Lunar Lake mobile processor, specifically the Core Ultra 7 (CU7) 258V, 32GB LPDDR5X-8533 RAM on package, and a 6-cell 80WHr battery that supports 65W USB-C PD fast-charging. The GPU is the integrated Intel Arc 140V that features eight Xe2 Cores. Oh, and it also comes with 1TB of NVMe 4.0 storage.
On the outside, the display of the Claw 8 AI+ is an 8-inch FHD+ IPS touchscreen with a 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of 500 nits. Other features include two Thunderbolt 4 ports on the top of the spine, a microSD card reader, one 3.5mm audio jack combo, and a power button cum fingerprint sensor.
The Claw 8 AI+ retails at US$899 (~RM3,975) and is a bit of a chonker, weighing 795g, making it heavier than the original Claw.
On that note, MSI also officially launched the Claw 7 AI+. It’s essentially identical to the original Claw 7, save for the fact that it has been upgraded to run on the same Lunar Lake processor as the Claw 8 AI+. Beyond that, the console boasts the same look, same design, and the same 7-inch display.
The Claw 7 AI+ retails at US$799 (~RM3,533). At the time of writing, MSI did not specify local availability or pricing.
